Lip lift
Subnasal Lift (Upper Lip Shortening)
A long upper lip (from the nose to the red part of the upper lip) is a sign of aging and is therefore aesthetically unsatisfying. An upper lip lift (subnasal lift) is a plastic surgery procedure that gives the upper lip a youthful appearance by vertically shortening and shaping it. At the same time, it lifts the red part of the upper lip (vermilion), thus visually giving it volume. Discreetly, it can reveal the upper central incisors to the extent of a few millimetres, which adds a pleasing aesthetic attribute to the overall result. It is done by removing excess skin (in the shape of a “bull horn”) in the area under the nose.
This procedure is very often added to facelift surgery in order to achieve a better aesthetic result after facelift surgery.
